Online Guitar Tuition
There are two ways to take guitar lessons with me: Private Lessons and Video Exchange Lessons. You can find the details of these options below:
Private Lessons - £100 per hour
Requirements:
- 1. High-speed broadband internet connection
- 2. Webcam (the webcam built-in on most computers is perfectly sufficient)
- 3. Free video conference software (I recommend Zoom as it offers superior speed and audio quality over Skype)
In my private lessons we work together intensively one-on-one. You will have my undivided attention as we laser-focus on your goals and getting you the fastest possible results.
Please note that spaces in private lessons are limited due to demand.
Video Exchange Lessons - £100 per month
Requirements:
- 1. Smartphone/Video Camera for making progress update videos
Video Exchange Lessons are a great alternative if you want to take lessons at your own pace, are too busy to commit to a regular scheduled lesson time, or if you live in an area where the internet speed is unsuitable for live calls.
With Video Exchange Lessons, you receive customised pre-recorded lessons from me and work on the material in your own time. You can then upload videos of your progress, which I review and give you feedback on. I prepare your next lesson based on what you need to do to take the next step, and so on. You can ask questions and get help directly from me at any time throughout the process.
How it works:
- 1. Getting Started: When you enroll in my Video Exchange Lessons you will be invited to answer a detailed questionnaire about your background so far with guitar, your musical inspirations, the goals you want to achieve, and the challenges you’ve faced so far. At the end of the questionnaire, you will also be able to upload a video clip of your playing if you would like to get a head start on showing me where things stand (optional).
- 2. Your First Lesson: Once I receive your responses I will get to work creating your first lesson, and email you when it’s ready to download. Depending on what topics are in your lessons, you will receive a combination of written material, video and audio. You’ll be able to view or download your lesson materials on any device, from anywhere in the world.
- 3. Feedback: You can ask questions and get help with your lessons at any time. You can send questions by email, or send me video or audio recordings that demonstrate the problem you want me to see or hear. I will get back to you quickly with accurate answers and effective solutions.
- 4. Progress: As you progress, I send you new lessons tailor-made for your goals and what you need to work on to reach them. With your ongoing feedback and two-way communication, I’ll be able to perfectly customise your lessons as we go and make sure you’re getting exactly what you need to make the most rapid progress.
